Hello, new to the forum. I was wondering what some of you that have an open wheelhouse do for a helm seat. I would like something which can be moved out of the way relatively easily when it's mayhem time. The 3+ hour steams would be much more enjoyable with a comfy place to plant my arse. I'd like to come up with some sort of permanent seat as opposed to a stool type arrangement. I have an idea for a bracket which could swing out of the way but be locked in different positions. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here's what the helm in question looks like.

BTW it's great how easy it is to put photos on this forum.

Is that custom fab? Excellent idea, I was a little worried about mounting solely to the bulkhead(I'm not exactly a lightweight) but I think with a backing plate it would be okay. I may hit you up for some more info if that's okay.

Yeah the box isn't ideal, but pretty much everything else on the boat is for me. Plus I couldn't afford one of them there boats made from frozen snot.
