Horn Feedback

Doing a little work on the Parker.

Replacing my horn because where they are mounted from the factory they ultimately fail cause the unit collects water and the diaphragm corrodes. SS or not, still does it.

I imagine you real DE guys, :roll:, have the same problem or solution to it.

I'm relocating mine and looking for feedback on this unit, anone ever use one?? or find something better?

Anyways I always carry the can with me just in case, especially for boardings...

So on my new boat, I hit the horn button and it didnt work. So my friend and I over the trip up here couldn't find it. So finally about a week later I found it wired up and inside the wash rail, inside the cabin! Tells me that at one point she had an open house. So I figure if it did work, I would have CRAPPED myself...

Since then I threw a cheap West Marine one on the roof...

Has anyone used the air horn with that small compressor??

Pretty sure I'm going to order one up. Just want to avoid a mistake if someone else had a bad review.

I put a canvas cover on horn and it blasts right through it. No more water and corrosion problem.

About 20 years ago I did have a boat with the compressor horn system and never had a problem with it(10 years). The trumpets were at a 45 degree down angle and the only thing exposed to the elements at all was a little air tube and the horns themselves. The remainder was inside a cabinet. By the way whats up with the man boobs????

El Mar, i have the double trumpet mini by AFI on my whaler, i have the little compressor down below out of the elements. it works like a champ.
