26' Webber Cove lobster boat.
Say that we are dealing with a 31 bhm with a cut out stern, How many standard three footers will it safely cary in favorable weather. lets assume that we have a light boat and we are taking gear in so maximum trap capacity, is 90 traps a ridiculous #???

I used to stack on 120 42" wooden traps on a webbers cove that bhm should handle 90 no problem, get some plastic pipe to shove down through the wire to lock them all together and tie'um down good.

Standard to who?

90 is more than I've seen. There has always been at least 3 to 6 of them in the harbor since they came out. There are 5 now.

It all depends upon how creative you are. Crab pots are definitely different but I have a friend that put 216 on a 25 Parker

4 across the floor 5 over the gunnels 6 above that and so on. I think his pot rack held 40.

I'd think 5 across & 6 high would be quite easy to pile on, so 30 to a stack x 3 rows and still have room for barrels of rope and thats not even winging any out over the gunnels.
Here's 60 3 footers piled on my henriques ready to set out so another 30 shouldn't be a problem when hauling gear home.

My son had a 31 BHM closed stern. He fished 3' big box pots in 10 pot trawls and could safely move 60 at a time.

You guys are nuts :)
After seeing these photos, it makes me feel better about stability now when I carry 15 people on my JC. :)
