hull speed and drop offs

Ok just looking at the test runs when boat was first launched. I understand the boat was much lighter that day.

My test run last year in florida 27-28knts ( added generator and what nots)

Im now maxing out at 24knts. ( case of beer rods ,takle , etc )

I had to drop the boat in as soon as it was delivered. The boat was clean as hell because it was kept on a lift in FL. The boat had been soda blasted and painted the year before, when it showed up it had new zinks, and good bottom paint. I gave it a scrub at the beach once( a little bit of algae, but not the end of the world).
My mechanic, who is a certified cummins tec, says the motor is purring. Told him to go through it and treat it like he owned it.

Why have I lost 3knts?

fyi motor only has 775 hrs on it and has been pampered, oil and filters changed yearly or evry 100hrs

what about the boat?

I figured as much , but was startting to question if a layer of algae would make her lose 3 -4 knts.

Growth on Bottom

I lost between 2-3 knots on a 28ft downeast boat with a bottom that had growth on it that accumulated in 3 months because of warm water and little use. hauled out, powerwashed and got the 3 knots back

What kind of beer? I mean a heavy imperial stout, like 9% to 10% or are we talking Bud Lite?

Not really in regards to the boat speed, but just wondering if I should stroll down your dock...
