One of the guys at work made a hydrogen system for his car. It did not seem to be very efficient. I think it uses too much electrical power= robs engine power= increased fuel consumption to make up for the hydrogen fuel boost. You still have to run the engine on its normal fuel and the hydrogen that the system makes is like additional fuel . If you could use solar power/wind power to make the hydrogen and then use it for fuel you may have a good fuel source. A lot of car manufactures have been experimenting with Hydrogen fuel for years but none have gone into regular production that I know of. BMW used to have one of their hydrogen powered cars out in front of the headquarters with a list of all the records it set but I have not seen it in a while.. I have not heard a lot of talk about hydrogen in the last few years

Just for discussion we all need to know hydrogen added to combustion engines is different than a fuel cell that uses hydrogen to create electricity to run an electric motor.

From what I've read there are many types of substances that can be added to internal combustion engines. These systems show promise of greater efficiency for current engines. They are able to be retro fitted and there are several kit types.

National Fisherman ran a story about these Hydrogen Booster Systems about 6 months ago. A big shrimper down in the Gulf was using one. Can't remember any more details about it.
