I am located in NJ on a creek near Barnegat Bay. I just got electic yesterday and found I have internet access today. My boat is docked in Waretown just across from Barnegat Inlet and while I set it up for the surge after seeing the surge here I was pretty sure it did not make it. It was a nice surprise to see it sitting in the slip like nothing ever happened. I could not get there for a few days and finally got a ride since all my vehicles were flooded.
We had close to a 9 ft surge here at my house and while it wrecked most stuff in the yard, garage, shed, 5 vehicles, spare motor parts ,etc the house stayed pretty dry inside. Most of my neighbors did not make out as well but we are all working together to clean up. I cut my little center console loose from the dock during the storm and tied it to the frt steps. The water was up to my shoulders at the bottom of the steps. I rode out the storm just fine there and I used it the next day to evac some of the neighbors.
I took the little boat out in the bay and had to dodge debris including floating bath tubs, outdoor furniture, etc. There were lots of boats well past the marsh up against the tree line. I went to the Mantoloking bridge and saw the new inlet (now closed).
I got over to the beach on Sunday and checked on Mom's house. The house right in frt of hers is smashed but it helped protect hers. Looks like water flowed through the house but no structural damage. I can't believe that house has made it through so many storms. Its terrible constuction and old to boot.
I was suffering from withdrawal after not being able to see the new boats for sale and the mermaid section, both my favorites. I was glad to see both sections were still intact and had several additions since I last saw them.
Hopefully everyone made out ok.
