Do any of you know if there's a place in the boston area where you can store you boat for the winter and work on it indoors? every year at this time I think that would be a great idea to get 5 or six guys and rent a place that can hold boats and is a good place to work on the boat for the winter. Any info would be appreciated.

Tony I have been looking a lot lately and have called on a few properties with a bay.. I've been checking craigslist parking and storage section and the commercial real-estate section.. Problem is of course the cost.. The cheapest place for heated storage is this place on rt 18 in Abington which I have looked at before..I think it was like 500 a month but he is all sold out..I think the best way to do it is an instant garage but I wouldn't be surprised if there is a small sleeper warehouse that is vacant ..think this is a great idea and let me know if you come up with anything .. Also think it would be cool to buy a used hydraulic trailer with a few guys down the line

Looking for one myself for just a month and there is one in Rockland that holds busses and has a deepsink, head etc. The cost though is $1400.00 per month which is tough to swallow especially if it was for a whole winter.

Here are 2 spots in our are Dave..tough part is that everyone wants a lease signed..but as Elmar said I think that everyone will bend.. prime example right now is all the halloween stores that pop up for a month in some place that has been for rent forever..and then vacate..

Hey Bill

I've been looking for a decent hydro trailer for a couple months. I've come across a few but haven't jumped on any of them just yet. I have the experience running these trailers and am just about to get my CDL, suppose I should be legal if its my name on the title:rolleyes: Anyways when I get serious about a purchase, I will get in touch with you about possibly going in on it. Lots of details to work out I'm sure, but could be fun.

About 3 years ago I built a "neighbor hater" in the backyard after going thru this issue. Storage was too much and plus I wanted all my tools and supplies near. Used cheap 1x3's, strapping and 4mil plastic with a Job Lot tarp on top.Nice thing is that you can chip away and spend as much or little time working as you want.

I even used it to pull my 350 chevy. I am only a 20 fter which certainly makes things easier. Biggest thing is height. Can just about reach the top. Snow finally got to it last year. I am now in the process of "raising" an instant garage and something more for the longterm.

Another option or lets say "pipe dream" would be a "downeast boat club"..some guys get together and buy a piece of property with a bay or two..a storage yard.. hydraulic trailer.. tools.. inside would be a bar/ pooltable mans town with a movie theatre etc.. charge a membership and a boat storage fees, and a monthly rate to use the bays.have a mermaid to tend bar on the weekends..life would be good
