Beautiful boat. I just wish he would build some boats in glass.

It is nice to know there are still buyers for high end wooden boats

Peter Kass was featured in Wooden Boat magazine years ago in the series on DE boats. Most of his builds are Lowell designs. Not sure what this one is. Maybe the last Carrol Lowel boat which is the 43.

Blitzen, I think a long traditon would end if it started finishing fiberglass.

Pete Kass has been designing his own boats for nearly 30 years. He builds from the Half Model. This one is from his own 42' Half Model and has been stretched to 44'.
I've seen lines of the Lowell 43. It is indeed a very nice glass boat, but Pete's are quite different. They are deeper, at 5'6" with a very different sheer. JBBC boats are very recognisable at any size. Finish is excellent.
Pete has a great eye. This new boat is very handsome. Of course, being wooden, it feels, sounds and smells beautiful. There is nothing better than wood under your feet.
Pete started off doing some work for Carrol Lowell, but he has been doing his own thing at Johns Bay for nearly 30 years and has an impeccable reputation.
