I dropped my Spyderco Atlantic Salt knife in the water last night  It was only 8 feet of water, so I spent about an hour diving and digging through eel grass to find it. No luck. If I decide to spend the $ for another one, has anyone come up with a lanyard that might work to keep it from the abyss? What have you "donated" to the deep?

That sucks! I lost a hand-held GPS unit once. It was in a holder that was clamped to a rail on my center console. I was in a pretty good bay chop, and it bounced out of the clamp and went over my head, into the drink.

Back in my Draggin' days I had my twine knife on a string on my belt loop. I just used a piece of 42 or 54 thread. Some guys liked the "Ginsu" ( Victorianox red handles) and would stick the handle in their hat around the temple.

I still have the Motorola cell phone on a string. I lost 2 in the water, one wasn't mine....

Dropped a nice 19V drill trying to install scuppers...

Lost a harpoon at the dock in the summer. Couldn't get it back and harbor I was in was not friendly. Came back in the late fall when harbor was settled out and BAM found it no problem. Funny how things work out like that...

my kids gave me a pocket watch for fathers day. I had it in my top pocket for all of 15 minuts before i bent over to tie a line. Splash. My little one jumped in to find it but too much mud on the bottom. it is gone.
