Knots for gangion to mainline

So what type of knots are you guys using to attach the trap gangion (or snood as we used to call them:rolleyes:) to your mainline when fishing trawls ?? I use a half hitch and then just tuck the gangion thru the mainline 3 times, works great but the hauler tends to wear the one lay of the rope that is proud of the others.

I guess this would be a good time to know what knots are called:grin:/\\

I splice 2 threads 6 tucks one way and 1 thread 6 tucks the opposite way.

Then the knot option???? that very first loop you make on a bowline....

2 of those intersecting at the cross over and synch them up

Splice made with 4 tucks all 3 strands on the same side if the groundline, then a half hitch around the groundline with the gangion.

OK so basically you guys are doing a 3 or 4 tuck splice and a half hitch in front of it. Here's what i've been doing forever, didn't have a good hunk of rope to tie it with but you can see it. Black is the gangion. I'll have to try some with a splice.
