Good luck fishing El Mar, conditions should be perfect. I fished the derby there in 08-09'. Did see one or maybe 2 General Marine 26's fishing the derby.

I'll be up there this Friday, but will be cleaning and opening up the In-Law's seasonal camper which is about 1/2 mile from Weirs. He sold his boat last year, but my father in law could nail the salmon any time of year; we caught our limit every day we went out before the first 'zoom' boat made the first wake on the bay - he has a gift. We followed the same loop from Weirs Beach to Meredith and back, never had the need to venture any further. Rattlesnake Island area holds 'em too. Be interesting to see how the season is after such an early ice-out (if there was ever an ice-IN).

If you are going by Alton Bay stop into AmyLynnes General Store for the cooking. Woopie pies are the best! I went in to get bait and a fishing licence and bought some food while I was there. When I get up that way I make a point to stop there!

wont be up there this week but was last . My parents live up in meredith, so i'm up there quite a bit and grew up fishing on the lake back in the 70's and 80's when it wasn't so crowded. I was out fishing last week . Water temp was 45 last week but my father was out fishing yesterday and said it warmed up to 49. we seemed to do better when it got above 50 , which it should be now. We were marking fish in the 35-42 ft range trolling in about 70-100 ft of water. only hit was on a orange top gun with black dots. we were fishing the centerharbor/meredith side out by beckys garden . Our best luck by far last year has been down by rattlesnake and welchs Isl. trolling db smelt or top guns in wonder bread color or white with red dots. good luck

ps. I'll be up there for the Derby in a couple weeks.

It sure is a trip seeing a boat that big on such a small body of water, she wasn't running while we were up there last weekend though.

We did OK, about 8 salmon in all to the boat, someone on the rod shook a few off though.
