That sounds about right. Up until about 5 years ago Diesel engine prices were about 1.25 per hp…ish.

I was looking at a 16' garvey that a guy started to build before he passed away and would be a good project to dick around with when I retire but seeing the price increase with materials, engines and gas it's not worth it to me to have two boats when you can only run one at a time. I guess i'll just dick around with the wife!

Thank you. Purchased an engine already. To many to choose from. I think there all pretty good. The marina where i have my slip is a dealer for the brand I chose and was the final reason on choice
