Putting a live well drain in my transom so that it can can simply just overflow out. Well is built into the transom. After I drill the hole is the best route to hot coat it then gel coat it before I 5200 the fitting in? Is there an easier way?

I'd do what your saying but use something other then 5200 like 4200 or silicon so you could undo if you have to

I've used those 4" sliding RV dump valves in my fish hold drains, get the water out FAST.

I have the fitting already just a simple stainless fitting with a flange on one side and threads on the inside. I plan on letting the overflow out the back of the boat. I'm just wondering if for a proper instal if there was an easier way then mixing up both resin and then gel coat for such a small application before I silicone the fitting in?

I don't have any of that but it was just mounted/screwed flush over the opening and extended the release with some threaded rod so i could open it without sticking my arm into the slush and fish.

If the fitting covers the entire hole, just use epoxy to seal the core.

5 min. epoxy in the tube would work too for the amount you are using.

So epoxy seals the core completely? Vs resin which requires gel coat.
