My in deck fish box/live well has a macerator drain at the bottom and a surge tube which leaves to a 1.5" transom PVC throughhull a couple of inches above the waterline. At drift water will surge into and fill the fishbox.

The fishbox outflow has the attached fitting. What is it and where do I find the piece that screws into it and seals it when I am using the space as a fish box/storage space?

It used to have a screen on itI took it off because the water doesn't drain fast enough with it on. & starts flooding the deck
I thought you were going to cut in a valve on the tube??

that fitting is a pvc shower drain, you could make a round piece of "anything" (scrap fiberglass, plexi, lexan, etc.)...with a gasket on the bottom to seal it.Better yet, a test plug for about 5 bucks. done.
but a valve on the drain line would be most secure.

I will eventually cut but was looking for an easier fix if one existed.
Larry, Go to Home Depot or the hardware store. Buy a PVC ball valve, PVC primer, & PVC glue. It couldn't take more than 10 minutes to install a valve in the overflow tube. Total cost $ 20.
