Two hours at the helm without sitting is killing my legs. I don't want to put in a standard helm chair as it would take up deck space and restrict movement. I recall a boat at the Cape Cod boat show a couple of years ago that had a small seat almost like those flip up shower seats. This was hinged to the pilothouse wall and swung up to lock in place with a strut and folded down out of the way when not in use. It didn't look like a one-off builder item so I'm trying to find out who makes them.

Any ideas?

33 Flowers.
Sheet of plywood, cut to desired size for seat.
Layer of matt both sides, gelcoat white or any desired color.
Set of hinges, mount to desired height and have it hinge down to store.
To hold up find a supplier of table leg mounts ( I'll try to dig up a link of the supplier I found )
Mount that to the bottom side.
Length of aluminum pole that slides into the mount.
Rubber stop on the bottom of the pole to protect your deck.
If you want to spend a few extra $ have some cushions made up.
Later in the week I take some pics of mine.
Have one for my helm stb side , port side and one about 4ft wide across transom.

I installed a flip up seat on my winterback from (teakworks4u.com)? works great, hold 300lbs...use it as a table, or seat & just drops out of the way for engine hatch access.

Thanks fellas, I happened across the Taco catalog late last night and I found the brackets( part# H24-7660). Looks like the same brackets as on the teak shower seat above. I'll make a seat like Ronnie's and I should be in good shape for about $100

I just ordered the brackets from Pier Supply $39 each plus shipping.

I finally got around to getting that folding seat project done. I took a chance on using a $30 folding seat from Walmart. I mounted the seat on a piece of 3/8 x 6 aluminum. I bolted that to the folding seat brackets. I bolted the folding brackets and seat assembly to a piece of 1/2 x 6 aluminum. I had to do some fiberglass work to reinforce the gunwale to take the load. Came out really well. My only bitch is I had to raise the seat a little higher than I liked to be able to see over the dog house. My feet don't quite touch the floor. I'm using a small fender as a foot rest
