Got a new boat looking to finish her...bought her from Kittery Maine a few months ago. She's a Leblanc 1610 (16'10"X8'2") with a deep entry (56" at bow).

Looking for THE classic downeast no-frills console to rig her with. I'm headed to Surfside in NH in August to see what they have but still keeping my eyes open as to other builders willing to do this type of work. Have a brand new Tidewater trailer so going a good distance to get it done is not out of the question...RI to Maine only though.

Anybody know of consoles that would fit this boat and look great. Have plenty of beam I am fairly tall (6'+) so looking for a bigger console than average.

The first two pictures are my vessel as I bought it and the second two is how two other Leblancs were finished by the builder in Lower Wedgeport NS. What do you guys think?

Saw the thread on the Hull Truth. You started calling the guy in Kittery last May, did he ever return your calls or did you have to hunt him down?

Do you know if any of the Leblanc's are left? Specifically, the 24' pilot house?

Your hull cleaned up nicely. Love the color.

@Eastporter, thanks...l'll have to check into it.

@Mousetrap...I had to hunt him down. He's a lobsterman and can be very difficult to get a hold of. But I finally got it done. Saw the boat two years ago and she's finally mine.

The twenty-four pilot house is gone. That was a beautiful boat. There are three boats left as of a month and half ago. An older Leblanc 16 (with a 7'6" beam) and a 22-24' other Canadian builder that's basically an open Nova Scotia boat with a v-berth down below. No hard top, though. I think he wanted 8500 for that one. And a David Smith 18 that's been widened to a nine-foot beam.

Good luck, let me know if I can help you at all.

@jojobee, that was the direction I intended for a year or two. My buddy gave me a 40hp two-stroke and I was going to run that into the ground. But no, it doesn't even plane. :( So if I'm going to shell out thousands I might as well go big.

I have a little Strathmore (imitation Sturdee, f/g 15'6"er with the lapstrake sides and mahogany coamings) with the tiller steer, and love it. But time to go on up. So I'm back to the drawing board. I figure it would make a sweet little center console for Boston Harbor. The bow's big enough to run with the big ones out there as its 56" tall.

The mechanical drawings for the vessel and another LB1610 from the builder. It's not mine, I don't have the white striping on mine...

I'd go with something like the Seaway 18 shown here including the seat. Might pop for a windshield on the console with a grab rail over it. I'd skip the wood trim as well.

Welcome to Seaway Boats

Maritime Skiff has some nice console and seat options for their skiffs also.
