Unfinished million-dollar yacht auctioned in Thomaston | The Portland Press Herald / Maine Sunday Telegram

THOMASTON -- A partially finished yacht, commission in 2008 by a British man who lost money in the recession, was auctioned for the opening bid price of $50,000 to the boat's builder Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding.

Ouch thats got to hurt. Steve Dashew the designer of that boat as well as the other Deerfoots has a hell of a powerboat...I was fortunate to be tied up next to this thing on the west coast a few times. Talk about a personal battleship...very cool. 83ft long and will run 6000 miles at 12kts with only 300hp! His Dad is 95 and still sails Deerfoot every weekend....Doesnt hurt that he invented the credit card and has a crew to take him out but got to love a guy that still gets on the water at that age.
