My boat currently has a fairly simple antenna tree. It supports a dome radar array, but probably won't work for an open array (which I'd like to move to) because the support is too close to the mast. It also supports my nav/anchor light, gps and vhf antennas.

I'd like something bigger, that can hold an open array as well as taller than 8' antennas, and even some floods.

What does your look like and where did you get them fabricated?

look on the facebook page for DEBF. i posted one already made from our old Webbers Cove that we never used. $100 buys it...custom welded and it will definitely fit an open array

actually, mine is too short to hold 8 foot antannaes.

Here is a different view. It has no issues with 8 foot antennas, but I'd need stays to hold anything longer (say an 8' antenna on a 16' extension pole).

My other option is to just get a radar mast and put it behind and above this one. A flood would go well where the array is. I'd probably have to move the nav light, but that isn't a big deal.

Here is the pic for the mast orient star is advertising:

A little too simple for my needs, but probably a good deal for somebody......

here`s mine, holds the floodzilla and the 23' vhf,and now has a 42" open array instead of the dome radar, plus everything else. the one in the backgroud is a NB, powdercoated sailboat mast to get things above the F/B

I like that design. Where did you have it made up and what is the approx cost if you don't mind me asking?

Also, did you buy the 23' antenna as a single unit or is it a combination of extender and antenna? I was under the impression that anything above 16 feet needed a stay or guy wires mid way up.

my mast/ wing was made by eric kent. kent fab is his co. name, he used to be in norwell mass..but i believe he has a new shop, close to his old one.. it was around 3K, and i know of 2 more like it on the island here, its held up very well with no complaints although i did make the access areas a little bigger it really helped when fishing wires etc.
my antenna is a shakespear (sp?) its a one piece and designed to be held only by the base and NOT anywhere else, that also was a great addition to the boat. i have touched up the gelcoat on it a couple times as it comes off the boat every winter
