Thats the way we do it on all the Shamrocks except, fuel filter on each tank.
Yea, my Shamrock had the Groco 3-way valve for the 2 tanks and I thought that was by far the best way to do it. All functions in a single handle. If that’s what you’ve got, I‘d stick with it, personally.

My Sisu has at least 4 valves in there, maybe 6, to do the same thing.

Not to nitpick, but the ones Shamrock uses have 6 ports, so the return lines are switched, too. (2x ports for each connection - Tank 1, Tank 2 , out to engine.)

The older ones don't have return ports. Only FI engines had return lines. All Boynton and Wesmar built, the only ones I deal with , have no return lines.

My Mercruiser engine (5.7l Horizon MPI) does not have return lines.
Three way valve is used.
