Sorry if this is not the right place but...

Steve not sure if you saw any of the news reports of the Mandy Ness sinking off Barnegat Light. Sounds like the boat was sideswiped by a ship on their way out to pull monk nets Tuesday night around midnight. Jimmy Mears was the owner and captain that unfortunately did not make it after teh boat was capsized. The mate got out and was picked up by the Frances Anne which was being run by Ricky. Figured you knew him pretty well from your days at 6th St. I got to know him last couple years as he was running a charter boat out of 18th street. Really sad.

Very sad to hear....those cargo ships down in that area will come within a few feet when we are bottom fishing....very dangerous

I run the Miss Barnegat Light at night and there are a few spots up in the Mud Hole and down by the Barnegat Ridge were they get closer then I want them to be. I will say that since we put AIS on the boat there can see us a heck of a lot better.

I knew of those guys but didn't personally know any of them, very sad thing that happened. RIP Jimmy.
