As long as you are going to have the tanks out I would give some thought to making soft patches after you reinstall them. Also draw up some prints of your framing so you can relocate the patches. More than likely you would have problems with the fittings before the tanks. Looks like that Port fill pipe is copper. You may want to change that out also.

I was going to say the same thing.

I know a boat in Alaska, built in 1949 with 2 monel fuel tanks and 1 water tank , pretty sure they are original.

I have some old reclaimed tanks in the workboat. Orange gelcoat, long cylindrical tanks. 50 gallons each. They are strange with a cap at the end that has a kinda hex pattern. I was told they were from a hinckley...but I don't really know for sure.

Mine were about 6' x 20" and very heavy. They were installed above deck, under the gunwales of the old Dyer. I went aluminum and had them custom made for below deck.
