Another grapple recovery

This is a 1,000 pound mushroom only diver serviced for maybe decades. An old bottom chain and top chain were discarded around the shank at some point. The shank stood straight up and down and caused wrapping issues.

It's bent. Hard to say if it was always like that or done during the haul. Either way, it's my opinion that regular hauling to surface prevents this and provides a quality inspection.

Seems like people make assumptions that what they are hooked too will hold. Mooring is still cheaper than a slip, so inspection/ replacement is money well spent in my opinion.

Fouled winter stick. Parted during unfouling process. Had to grapple the 1,000 pound Anne’s anchor. Customer took this picture. It was in there good. Pulled 4-5 kips.
