Heading up to Jonesport/Beals Tomorrow from CT, for the races Saturday. I've never been past Walpole (Flowers Boatworks) & plan on taking rt 1 out from Bath. Looking for any recommendations (lunch / places to stop along the way). All info is appreciated. Thanks, Rick

If this is your 1st time steaming up that way just be careful following your course. There are some shoal areas along the route. Check the tide and your charts.

When ya get there, have a great time ! ;)

Once you get to Jonesport, I highly recommend Tall Barneys for any seafood but especially the fried haddock sandwich. As far as along the way, the home kitchen cafe and the brass compass on main street in Rockland are great too.

If you're in Searsport around lunch time (after 11) stop by the Mermaid Pub, might run into me there

Go through town, the Mermaid Pub is behind the Homeport Inn which will be on your right hand side as you head North on Route One. If you see hamilton marine you've gone too far. There are 3 B&B's all packed together, the Homeport is the first one.

Had a blast up in Jonesport/Beals Island. Met many great people up there, most named Beal, Alley, or Kelly & all great to talk to. Thanks to all that we met up there for your hospitality. Here's some pics from yesterday. The little Hydroplane got some air under her @ about 70mph or so & took flight end over end, operator walked away unhurt & that's him on the bow being towed in. I'm sure someone will have a video of that soon enough.......Enjoy the pics

I'm assuming it's the Workbarge operaters' shoreside transportation, as they drove it down the wharf, he picked it & put it on the barge & steamed away.

No idea about the car service, guess it was going out to one of the islands. I was doing a parts run for the green boat when they did that so I missed seeing it happen.

Yeah we scooted over to Belfast after wrapping up everything on the green boat, had a bite to eat over on Front Street while they were waiting for the wind to die down some before they steamed back to NJ.

No idea about any purchase or anything though. Figured I'd dock there so we didn't have to walk as far :p
