Hey guys, I just bought a 32' solid fiberglass downeast project built in 1979 in Gouldsboro Maine. The documentation papers don't have a builders name and I would like to know who built it. Who was building boats there at that time?

Thanks!

First three letters of the hid should id the builder. At least who built the hull. Anyone could have finished the boat out.

HIN's were not required till sometime in the 80's so it may not have one. Repco's were built there but I am not sure if they were still building there in '79.

Repco did not come in 32......Repco had a 30 and a 37 ....in the 30 foot range..a picture would really help

Is it possible they did a one off like so many other builders?

She's 5/8" thick solid glass, I wouldn't have bought it if it was glassed over to hard to tell if there are any underlying problems. I figured I was a pretty good deal for $1500 its been sitting on blocks for 20 years and was lighty used for sportfishing before that, I bought it from the original owners son.
