Wonder if it would be beneficial to have mounting bracket situated with additional aft rake so that extra negative trim is available if needed. In know tabs help with bow down, but at slow to moderate speeds they don’t do much. If you could tuck that OB under the boat a little extra that might be nice at slow speeds in snotty conditions.

Are you thinking of buying a molded bracket from Atlantic? Or building your own? I’m thinking a molded unit would probably be spendy...but proven.

Definitely molded. I have no real interest in building the bracket myself. I'll either go with the molded Duffy unit or see what a custom aluminum set up would cost. Making my own bracket will be the last option.
What engine or engines are you considering? Sounds like a great project

Interesting information. We are currently finishing off a Mitchell Cove 20, and are planning on building a bracket out of aluminum. I wasnt planning on using the bracket as a hull extension, but mainly using one so we didnt have to cut the stern down. I dont like the idea of the low transom where you have to cut the stern out. Pretty much going to fabricate a bracket, and bolt it to the stern, the correct height. This will be center console boat. Outboards are hard to find right now, and probably going with a single 150 hp.
