Did they just have a fire at that facility recently? Just wondering if that is why the boat is up for sale.

sounds like a lacka funds type deal to me. Still looking to wind up with a boat at the end of it. Sounds like a potential good deal depending on how much is left to finish up. Got to cost a lot more than that to build a new 38 anything these days.

So many questions ?????? LOL

Exactly. Wondering how much has been completed? One thing is for sure Clark Island / McCaffrey boys do quality work.

$190K sounds like a lot for an unfinished boat but its actually probably a pretty fair price depending on completion stage. 38 Hollands are not the cheapest 38 DE out there!

If they built it, quality cannot really be questioned. Proximity to the fire is a valid one, though. Looks pretty far along in those pictures. Most likely further than that too. Mentioned windows and such in the add. Very nice looking lobster boat.

I think I found the pictures of this new 38 Holland for sale.

From my investigation of all the 38 DE hulls, the Holland is on the smaller size of the 38's and was the cheapest hull to purchase. For my needs, there were better choices than the Holland, but others may find it perfect. Looks like a very good quality build by Clark Island.

Awesome build photos! What is the middle "strut" on pic #52? I see the two hyd steering rams but what is in between them and how can the quadrant turn with that in place?

How about pic #63, what is the green I beam material? fiberglass?

Must be fiberglass or aluminum. Said in ad, no wood construction. Also said aluminum hatches and windows.

They are fiberglass I beams. He used them in my boat too when I said "no wood"

Cool - never saw fiberglass beams like that...what about the decking - looks like cement board...anyone know what that is? and where can you purchase the beams and decking?
