A dock mate of mine just brought back his new to him 42. He said this boat was in the bay next to him and was quite impressive. He also said that they get the 46 but extending the 42 and are getting better numbers with the same power. Definitely a beauty.

The 46' Wesmac is a sweet boat, it is definitely at the top of my list if I could afford something over 40'.

Just build one!! your a young guy with lots of energy and talents. Not only could you stack permits on it but just bring a extra cook inlet boat with ya!!

I couldn't afford an extra boat if I blew it all on a 46' Wesmac. You have to be making some serious money to afford a boat like that.

I believe they bought a used Wesmac 42' named K2 and lengthen it 4 feet, painted and other upgrades over the winter. Less wait and less $$...pretty good idea the boat looks balanced now.

Not your own extra boat, another permit holders boat. You must be in state by now?? been fishing if you are?? F&G closed the shrimp fishery on us so i'm hanging around the house building pots, doing paperwork and insulating another section of my barn/shop. Need any crew for a few periods?? let me know Have fish pick/will travel.

I work real cheap!!
Sell that CI permit and get your butt over on the Copper river and PWS, they are doing very well this year(and last year). You'd have the biggest gillnetter in the fleet and could fish the flats no matter the weather and in the sound you could load up on ice to make slush and only deliver once every 24 hours. I've actually been thinking about buying back in, i think my rig would work just fine its the 200k for a permit thats stopping me, i don't want to buy in at the top again and watch the permit prices go down.

Yesterday's opening was good (not great),the weather was horrible blowing a constant 30-35 knots, light rain, and 6'-10' seas, it was a wild day. The index numbers on the southern line are starting to pop big time, so right now it looks like the fish may be showing up.

Most guys I know have fished here 15-30 yrs, and they don't remember it blowing any harder than yesterday's opener. Fish are showing up, they are giving us an extra opening tomorrow.

Whats the old saying "they swim with the wind,the wind blows them in"!!! fished enough of 40-50mph blows on the flats to know that is a bunch of horse sh*t !! They'll be at the jobsite when they are ready and no sooner.
