Hey guys, I'm new, my name is Albert and I'm a 19 year old from Curacao.

I signed onto DEBF because I'm studying to become a boat builder/Naval Architect and I've begun building boats specifically Lobster boats already.
People on Curacao love lobster boats which is why I want to start building and selling them mostly to help my dad and his store.

I'm here to get more info and to ask some questions.
You'll probably here a lot about me especially on THT but that isn't that important now.

Anyway here I go.
A cousin of mine is interested in building a lobster boat.
I found a 33 footer on Glen-L but I'd like to go faster than 18 KTS.
We'll be fishing for tuna, dolphin and wahoo.
With this I want to ask if anyone knows of a similar design but one that can go faster ?

Also, I'm interested in building a Jericho Bay lobster skiff but it'll have to be stable and able to ride well in waves 3 to 5 feet.
Does anyone have any experience with this boat and can you tell me your experience ?

I'd also like to know the cost of materials for both boats.

Thanks in advance and tight lines,
Albert.

ps: I almost forgot but I'd also want to make a 20 ft lobster boat designed by B&B.
I'd also like to hear the pros and cons of that boat and if anyone has made it (not looking for speed).

Hello,
Did you ever end up buying or building your lobster boat?
I have the Glen L Double Eagle which has that lobster boat look.
Great boat, and super fast with its current motor set up.
I have a V8 351 with a 15 inch prop.
she sure hauls ass in the water, but i need to install spray rails for sure.
Pretty wet at WOT.
