Stupid f'in waste of money. These boats can't operate on the rio grande, about the only place they can run is a lake (powell ?). What the f are they going to do on a 5x3 mile lake?

I have no doubt that they are a complete waste of taxpayers money. You have to admit, they're bad ass!!

Yellowfins

Spent a lot of time on these boats (Yellowfins). Went on but never took one of these Texas boats for a ride. The Texas boats have a jack plate which can rase the entire motor mount up and down. They should easily be able to run in shallow water. Seems to be a well thought out boat. From what little info i could get out of yellowfin at a Florida show it sounds like they have some over seas customers using these for port security.
The 36 yellowfin is a great riding boat.

Yes they need a fast manuverable boat for that job... but a yellowfin? Are they planning on cruising through 4' seas... on a river?

Has anyone here seen the movie "Act of Valor"? I watched it two nights ago and must say the acting got a D+ from me, but the action was intense (A+). They had a gun boat in the movie that was used for an extraction that would be more suitable for a river IMHO.

Yep I saw that movie. Exactly what I was thinking actually when I saw this, that boat would work much better. Nobody would want to mess with one of those. The D+ acting job is because the actors are not actors, they are active duty US Navy SEALS.

I'm not wading into this any further than this one statment, but what the F*** are Navy Seals doing acting in a movie?!?!?!? There should be as little info as possible out there on all of our special forces guys.

Sorry for the rant.
