Well, OK, it's actually an '88 hull and the bank owns half of it. But, after a pile of paperwork (worse than buying a house!), I finally closed yesterday:
1988 Duffy Downeast Power Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com
The survey (hull & engine) went well - probably the most significant finding being a corroded fuel fill line (about a 1' section above the deck) which the owner fixed.
If I had a choice I could do without some of the complexity systems (of course my wife loves the shower and AC) and upkeep of the teak (and weight of both). But overall, a set of outriggers and a better fishfinder will make this boat the best deal I've seen for 70% cruising/30% fishing.
I'm having it shipped from Florida to Rhode Island and hope to have it somewhere around the 10th, so it looks like I'll miss the Block Island rendezvous.
Now my questions will shift from "which boat" to How do I maintain this beast (coming from a 25' outboard powered cruiser).
