Like many before me, I’m a long time lurker and got great benefit from this group during my long search for my dreamboat. I’ve “owned” a boat since I was 9 (ok, my first “owned” boat was a long term loan from Dad), but all have been suitable for day/bay use with occasional forays into open water - perfect days only.

My Dad had a 32 foot Richardson (beautiful wooden DE) when I was little and I loved cruising up the coast with him.

In that spirit, I just acquired a new to me Rosborough 246 which the admiral and I LOVE. Thanks for all the good advice and look forward to even more.

p.s. Title should say “from Freeport, ME” - can’t change it...

Where in Freeport? Do you bang around the Harreseeket at all?

Sure do - I live right around the corner at Staples Point. You can see my boat on a tidal mooring right from the boat launch at Winslow.

I kept my old Grady at Strouts Point for many years. In fact, my Dad’s old Whaler (Hazbin) is the yard boat there :). I stop by there fairly often for fuel and such.

Thanks - yes we were all over the bay over the weekend and sometimes check into the Goslings scene on the way to Paul’s (Judy’s Store) for a “treat”.

Hi Pete, nice boat. I see it all the time when I am launching to get out to my aquaculture operation. How does the bottom paint hold up with it rolling around on the mud flat like that?

She settles down really nicely even with a good breeze and light chop. The small keel, flat stern, and her hefty displacement keep her pretty happy on nice clear flats. I can give you a better answer when I haul her out in November, but I like what I’m seeing so far.
