I just discovered the Downeast Forum, but I've owned a 36' Harris for 30 years. When I lived in Connecticut, I fished the canyons with it every weekend all summer, weather permitting.
In fact, I got caught at the Ranger in it in the perfect storm. Luckily, I was only 25 miles south of Montauk when the wind hit 50 knots. It took 6 rough hours to get back to the Point. I have an open flybridge and took 1000 waves over it. I couldn't run from the inside helm due to the hundreds of lobster pots off the Point. In the storm, you just couldn't see them and fouling the prop on one would probably have been deadly if we swung stern-to in 15' seas.
My wife named the boat; it is "The Other Woman."

    Thanks.
I've been reading some of the posts here; I wish I discovered Downeast Boat earlier. I have long loved down east style boats and and it's obvious there are many more like me here
