This winter I intend to redo my ground tackle from 30' of chain and only 250' of 1/2" rhode into something that would allow me to anchor up in an emergency somewhere on the shelf, say 300' max.

Will a 600' spool of 1/2" 3 strand do the job in moderate conditons?

Also - who sells rhode in greater lengths than 600' if I decide to go longer?

You can always just splice two 600's... or have something like a loop you clip onto at the end of one 600ft length so you don't always have a 1200ft piece of continuous line

go with braided rope, takes up a lot less space. I'd use 600' and have another 300' in case i needed it.
