So I have a mid 70s Perkins, 6M354T in my Bruno 35.

Should I be checking the oil cold (when it reads hi) or hot (when it reads low)

- & I looked in the manual & it only says how much of what, and when.

Thanks !

Most manuals call for cold because you should be checking the level before you start the engine. That said you shouldn't be seeing that much of a difference solely due to oil temperature. After shut down, make sure you are allowing enough time for all the oil to make it back to the pan.
