dtuck,

Are you boating between Miami/Ft Lauderdale and the Bahama's ?? :D

63 mile +- trip across the Gulf Stream traveling 5 knots north. Couple that with a prevailing northeast wind in the winter equals some big seas.

IMO for running back and forth down there in beautiful (sometimes windy) weather??? ........the 33 Flowers (built down hull).

Soft riding big 33, ..........nice :D

2nd choice would be the 33 Crowley Beal (skeg) Another beauty for that trip.

32 footers??
32 H&H, you'd be satisfied with that boat too, just a couple knots slower than the two 33s mentioned above

31s......I'd take the Duffy for that trip 1st, 31 West Bay 2nd

fwiw, Bill D

I'd go with the largest boat in the group Flowers 33 if I had to choose best overall. If you could still get one I'd look at a RP (Willis Beal) 31 but I believe the molds were lost in a fire.

on a side note, in a case like this, whats to stop someone from having a 31rp, and using it as a plug ?

thanks....I like how I posted in that thread and obviously forgot about it.

This is a grea pic of the forefoot too...this really looks to me like a hybrid skeg vs. built down, it doesn't have the skeg seam but it doesn't look to have as much of the wineglass curve as a Duffy or BHM. I don't know, maybe that's just my eye deceiving me. Definitely looks to have more room through the middle to cram a QSB, NEF or Yanmar under the deck comfortably with PLENTY of clearance for the exhaust system!!!!

Nothing but $$$$$$$$$$

You would have to strip a boat down to a bare hull turn it over and use it, $$$$$$
I could understand doing it if the hull was "AMAZING" but there are other choices just as good........

reason why i asked is some hulls actually have patents on them, and i know there are a whole bunch of USCG laws regarding whats considered modification to get past the patent and so on. Deff alot of work, fairing and striping just to make a mold.

If 33' is your upper length limit, then the 33' Flowers would be my top choice. It's a very nice looking boat. If you could go another foot, the 34' Calvin Beal is another good option and has a full 13' beam. Both boats push easy and are built by quality builders.

In case you haven't heard or forgot,
Plowin is having a 33 Flowers completed now.
Maybe 3-5 weeks away from a sea trial.

This 33 Flowers has a Cummins QSC 8.3 500 nesteled in her.

7" step up helm, NO engine box, PLENTY of engine access on either side and from the top.

Center helm floor hatch was configured and sized so that the big QSC could be lift up and out the winter back door with ZERO cutting.
