So I am a Massachusetts Resident but of course trying to line things up for 2013. Did all my state stuff but starting to think about maybe permits in NY, VA and NC.

Some of these states look really hard and looked online a little bit but not easy. Wondering if anyone else can chime in here.

Mainly just looking to sell tuna, not just bluefin in all these states. Of course love to sell other fish but probably not because of legacy issues.

I do possess a Black Sea Bass, Federal Permit, too so wondering about them as well as maybe tilefish.

NY, dont even see anything, wondering if I can get anything to sell tuna in that state...

VA, looks like $444 for out of state then another $190 or so.

NC, havent' looked yet...

You didn't mention NJ but i know they need some kind of landing permits there but don't know for what species. Its a screwed up world when you can't pull into a dock and unload/sell your catch just because you don't live in that state.

nc if you fish in state waters you have to buy an already existing license from someone, then $800 a year nonresident fee, plus $1.50 a foot for your boat. if you only fishing federal waters, and just looking for a landing license, the price depends on what mass would charge a nc resident

Once you cross the Va./Nc state line (welcome to my world)you are in the SE region and that opens up a BIG can O' worms with regard to Gr/Sn rules which include black seabass and tilefish you're talking about. No fed permit= no sale.....and harsh trip limits. That does NOT include NC's requirements to land them either, that will be extra$$ if you land them there.
As far as tunas go,check the HMS website......FWIW, Jo
