Patiently Waiting

Waiting for the fall bass run to begin , just wondering how's the fishing off of Montauk ? Here in Barnagat Inlet water temps are still in the high 60 's .

Fished mtk last week and it was not to good, we did manage some fish but it wasn't red hot. The word was that it has been a slow start to the season. Water temp was still 69 degrees.

Your right Steve with the late start to winters around here anymore the fishing for us is usually pretty good in december . Bass , Tog and Seabass are pretty good , bass are around usually the first 2 weeks till the bait pulls out but the wreck fishing is usually dynamite . Plus i know a few guys who fished Jan - Feb and scored big on huge Tog 8+ pounds on a regular basis .

A book of wrecks, hangs and lumps is priceless. Wish i would of copied the book we had on the dragger i fished on years ago !! Although there ain't many secrets these days with all the electronics available. That stuff sure turned a bunch of dummies into good fishermen

MV last weekend

I fished the Vineyard last friday thru monday. Water still in high 60's there as well. Albies were still around , plenty of blues but guys in Derby working hard to get bass , not many weighed in while I was there. NO huge ones either.
