This 10 inch electradyne hauler I have, though only 1 year of use (3 years old) needed a cleaning up.
pulled the plates & line splitter off and put everything in my sandblasting cabinet.
Going to epoxy prime then top coat with an Imron type polyurethane paint our body shop uses.
Thinking the housing white and maybe the plates black or red (have those colors on hand)
Lets here some suggestions on other color or color combinations.
Every one of these Electradyne haulers I see looks corroded after a few years of use, not sure why the company doesn't paint or powder coat them or some other type of coating.
Fire away.....

I think they leave them raw to keep the cost down. A customer of mine painted his with some of that hammer finish paint.

That thing looks nice !
Kind of crazy they leave they raw if you ask me, then add in a bunch of different metals(aluminum, bronze & stainless) & salt water, not a good combination and after only a few years they are all corroded !

Just about any hauler you buy has a mix of metals, mine is all stainless but the knife is bronze attached with stainless bolts and it has a set of those galvanized liners in it. Paint yours up nice and add a set of stainless discs, you'll have the gearbox and motor hidden so most of the rust problem will go away. I've been thinking about having the local canvas guy sew up some covers for the ED's, something with a bungee to hold it on. If i ever get them done i'll make sure to post some pictures of them.

Do you guys still haul your anchor with a Polly ball and then use the hauler to retrieve the set up. Or do you haul the anchor like it is a windlass, no ball?

Funny you mention the gear box.
Tag on them says they were made @ Boston Gear.
Boston Gear (Boston Gear Works as it was known when I was a kid) were in Quincy Ma for about 100 years.
A whole list of my family worked and retired from there including my father, uncles, grand uncles, cousins ect....
Small world !
