I had to go to whittier(shittier) where i keep the boat all summer yesterday to check a few things, to get to whittier you have to drive through a 2 mile long tunnel through a mountain and the tunnel is only open to one way traffic for 15 minutes every hour so while waiting for the tunnel i wandered around the docks and took these pictures.

those Nordic's and Sea Sports are popular boats up here

i think these russian "Freddy boats" are some of the ugliest boat around, high straight sides, no draft and most are powered by big block gassers running jets

this guy drifted up on a rockpile(his second this year !!) and was being hauled out to fix a hole he punched in the bottom. Notice the heavy duty:rolleyes: spring lines holding the boat on the trailer.

Awesome pics! I'll be picking up a cruise from $hittier next spring - can't wait to see it in person. Your pictures have certainly whet my appetite for the scenery, Denali bear attacks and tropical temperatures for sure - keep 'em coming!

shittier is a dump of a little town run by whitidiots, only good things are the harbor and the hole in the mountain to get out. 80% of the population lives in one building. Let me know when you'll be there maybe i can get you out on the sound for a trip. Are you going to head south on a cruise ship ?

Wow, that waterfront sure paints a pretty mask on an otherwise unsightly town; guess the town has a 'butter-view'.

Anyway, yes my wife & I will be picking up a Princess cruise in Whittier and heading on a one-way southern course to Vancouver. Time permitting, I would LOVE to see more of the sound if that works out.

I'll bring the adoption papers...

More eye candy!

Are you flying into los anchorage to start your trip? Going to the park? Are you with a tour group or just doing it on your own? Let me know if i can be of any help. It was a very nice day in shittier usually its cloudy, rainy and blowing then the real suck factor shines !! They never see the sun all winter cause it never gets high enough in the sky.

Well, I spoke to the travel agent (my wife) last night and sadly our time in Whittier is limited to stepping off a train and right on to the gang plank of the ship with no time to spare. So, I appreciate the offer, but looks like the schedule is too tight.

We're flying in to "L.A." and doing a four day 'land-tour' of Denali and a couple other areas which ends with the train ride to the ship; so, I'll be the one on deck waving to the only downeast boat in AK, which, by the way, adds a nice touch of class to the fleet there...

Anyway, thanks again!
