Hello
Currently running my pointer 18 as it was set up when I purchased it.
rigged with a 88spl Evinrude 2 stroke 1996 and 13.25 x 17 aluminum.
I changed it to a Michigan stainless at same 13.25 x 17 pitch and was low in the range of 4500 to 5500 and has been running well for few years
at 4600 wot .
the boat has hydraulic air piston auto trim tabs and keeps the bow level
boat planes off quick.
This prop has a great deal of slip and cavitates in a chop and hole shot, and if trimmed out at times.
This season I purchased a stiletto brand high cupped prop same 17" pitch
I resolved the cavitation and slip but this prop dogs the motor at 4200 rpm wot.
does run well ,but over propped
do i need to reduce the pitch to 15"or as small as 13" to achieve a 5000 to 5500 wot as recommended?
any stiletto knowledge help would be greatly appreciated .

Can you drop it down a hole to allow more leg in the water to prevent cavitation? This worked for me. I also switched out the small prop for a 14" diameter x 17 pitch prop. Huge difference. 5600 rpm at 26 knots WOT.
80 hp Suzuki 4 stroke
