PVC to fiberglass?

Just wondering if anyone had any luck bonding to PVC? I am faring in my rub rail and the rail is PVC.The rail was previously fared in with faring compound and has a tendency to crack at joint between rail and deck.I am thinking of routing a shallow one inch grove between deck and rail and using some ribbon glass and epoxy to join them. My other option is to remove rail and lower it 1/4 of an inch.

I didn't think anything bonded to PVC, hence the limitations with starboard ?

Epoxy will bond better but in my experience PVC moves around a lot with varying temperatures.
I used 5200 with a small hole in the tip and smoothed it with a finger, I followed up with a rag wet with mineral spirits to clean up any smears or excess. Give it a few days to cure.
