Figured this would be a good place to ask. I have been looking online at some downeast boats. Specifically BHM, Calvin Beal, and Repco. I am completely new to these boats and I just sold my grady white so I am looking for some general advice as to what brands I should be looking for ( if you dont reccomend the 3 I listed) and if you have any pictures of them it would be appreciated. I am thinking that a 28-32ft boat would do the trick for tuna fishing. Im looking to spend anywhere between 30 and 80k. thanks in advance

Tough to beat the 28 BHM biggest little boat around in my opinion. The Calvins are nice aswell, a 3rd choice would be a H&H/Osmond Beal

Here's mine, 29 H&H w/a 300 john deere, finished by Pen Bay Boats. Will be doing some cabin work on it this winter, getting rid of winter back and changing to a split house & finishing off downstairs with bunk and small galley. I looked at Seaworthy(BHM), Mussel Ridge & H&H before buying, like all of them but this one came up and was in the best condition, built 2006 and only had 800 hours on the meter, only lobstered part time by a older guy, not beat at all. In my opinion the H&H is a LOT bigger boat than the Seaworthy(BHM) and the Mussel Ridge. I met with Steve Law who builds the Seaworthy's he's a great guy and builds a beautiful boat if i was going to build a new boat he would be at the top of the list.

None of these other boats are even remotely close in comparison to a 31'Duffy (Of course,IMO)

One not mentioned, and not made anymore is the 31 RP. Wilbur used this hull for their Dorigo 31.

I have it and love it. Really big for a 31 and she is very sea kindly.[attachment=0:2iw9zo9h]IMG_2472.JPG A.JPG[/attachment:2iw9zo9h]
