Schools of Mackerel most likely, there have been boils out in the middle ground areas when I've been steaming to and from gear, somewhat large areas of them with porpoise and seals tending the edges closely. Haven't seen many landed on the docks as of late, maybe they are using the deep spots to congregate during the hot days we've been having.

Really hasn't been any other fish in the bay since the Russians were allowed to suck them all up with their freezer ships 20 years ago

Guess the state really thought they'd get some cash when the Russians landed their catch on land, little did they know they processed everything on board and wouldn't make landfall. If only someone had informed them about it...

Oh wait, that's right, we did

oops :???:

I've seen quite a few small pods of porpoise this year, many new calves. They might group up and save on daycare. No idea what they would show up as though.

Sure are fun to watch while changing the water in the traps
