The importer for the US lives in Nobleboro,Maine. The Hondex is very idiot proof and very quick and easy to place and remove marks, which makes it great for commercial fishing. They are always trying to make the product user friendly. The older model plotters didn't have a very detailed chart, but the newer ones use the c-map nt.I personaly don't care for their sounders , but I like the plotter.I have taken mine to have it updated twice since I have had it,just to get some new features. They do the updates free, and any of the newer ones are compatible.

Don't own any Hondex but have borrowed a friends boat that had both a honex sounder and plotter. Reminded me of look at an atari 2600, lots of square corners and a blocky look. But the wireless remote is a nice feature.

they are all i use on my commercial scallop boat....the charts are not nearly as detailed as winplot but the it is so EASY to use and its accuracy is second to none in being able to "hit" the same spot. i have a a "blackbox" hondex unit that runs through a 17 inch ac display as well as the 12 inch hondex plotter each there own seperate system with there own antennas
i dont know any of my peers in my harbor that have bought one in the last 10 years and not absolutely love it

I also have the hondex black box set up to a 19" monitor. Would never buy anything else. Have a Garmin 3210 plotter as well and the hondex blows it away. Land and Sea on the cape is also a distibutor....I believe Youngs in Hyannis sells them as well.

Nelson's marine electronics in Nobleboro ME is the importer as traditions said all units go through his shop. Could be worth calling up here and cutting out a couple middlemen. I doubt he has a website he's quite old school.

I know this is an old thread but Id like to add a black box hondex plotter to my boat and was wondering what 15inch monitor would work best with the BB. Does the monitor have to be sunlight readable or will any computer screen do? Thanks

I run a AG Neovo 19" monitor on mine. The one I have is 12v so I don't need to run my inverter. I picked up two monitors on eBay.

I got to play with the Hondex stuff at the show this weekend in Maine. Lets just say, I think I will have one of their things on for next year. Something I like about their buttons made it so easy to learn so quickly too.
