Had to run that race twice that day due to some other contestants who were having issues keeping up with the start boat.

Didn't matter much, results were exactly the same.

Fun fact: in the race that they participated in, where he got a little damp, the boat on the far starboard side (Gramp's Bird) came within 18 inches of my bow on that run. I drew up my anchor and just cruised around the rest of the day after that.

After the races were over and everyone was back on shore he sought me out and said that he got so close because he knew I wouldn't move. Big boats during that race, and there were a number of them too. Here is a copy of the newsletter for that series of races: http://www.mainescoast.com/lbr/newsletters/MLBRA-Newsletter2013-5.pdf

Hm

I'm looking at the sixteen and over class with a max hp of 90....With trim tabs I could win that spot at 31 knots in my baby novi.

Do you have to be a Mainer to compete???
