If you're going with a dome antenna you have all sorts of choices. On the other hand, an open array narrows your off-the-shelf choices considerably. My build is pretty close to yours and I'm going with the open, 3-1/2' Furuno. I've pretty much decided on the PYI Seaview PMA-100 mount - all airfoil stock so all wiring is hidden.

My mast by the same builder on a 30 footer. Powder coated 6 years & no peeling. Very high quailty workmanship.

I'm curious the cost to have that custom made ?
The 1st one pictured is around $600 and I'm guessing for about the same or not much more you can have one custom made to your liking.
I don't think these off the shelf mounts look right on a downeast boat.

I was told from the old owner that the Mast cost about 1,500. Jimmy fabricated a few things for this boat. He definitely was a talented welder.

My father and I made this one for my 36 BHM. It will hold a 21 foot "big stick" vhf antenna, open array radar, 2 8 foot vhf antennas, gps/radio antennas, and maybe lights.

Bought an old sailboat mast and some 1/4 plate and had this welded up by a friend. cost me aprox. 75.00. I blasted it and applied epoxy and then Awl grip so call it 90.00 total. Will be welding up the larger mast later this week, Will post up completed job.

I have seen a product called Marine Penetrol used as a polish for sailboat masts. It will last a season and is simple to apply.
I like your fabrication and will keep it in mind when I get to the point of adding radar

Wab It makes a product I have used before call aluminum trailer brightener. It is nasty stuff, need to wear some protection, but it works great on aluminum tool boxes etc. Pretty sure the brightener is clear and there is a degreaser that is pink that is not as strong. Its great for cleaning but it won't strip like in the above pic. I would be interested to know the product you used as well. I am always looking for good products for this type of stuff.
