how you doing raider ronnie? my name is joe and I noticed you run a yanmar 315. I just bought a cape cod 26 w/ 315 yanmar last season that I keep in scituate and in the mystic river. its been hard finding other guys that run this engine. id love to bend your ear a little bit just to get more familiar with maintenance. thanks

Fish Crazy, I have the Yanmar 6LPA 260 HP in my 26 Duffy. It's pretty much the same as the 315 but has 2 valves per cylinder instead of 4. The engine has been flawless (about 700 hours). Off the top of my head the only extra maintenance issues othe then the normal impeller,zincs, belts etc. is to change the anti-freeze every 2 years (because it has a alum. exhaust manifold), check and adjust the valves every couple of years and replace the cam timing belt about every 1000 hours. Your engine owners manuel will tell you their recommended service items also.
