26' Seaway
One of this springs projects is going to be to take the bottom down bare and barrier coat etc. In the process I am going to install lifting rails.
The boat is a 26' Seaway, hard chine so where to put them is easy and I intend to run them 18" from the transom forward.
The question is do I remove my current spray rails and go full length with these rails or do I leave the spray rails and go split rails. I see both all the time and obviously the split rail will be cheaper and a little easier but am I giving up any performance/ functionality by going with the split rail.
I plan on ordering the 1025-r rails from Hamilton marine which are 2" wide and using plexus to adhere them.
My current spray rails are only 1-3/8" wide so I know I would probably knock down a little more spray with the new rail if I went full.

Any chance for a pic of the boat out of water/hull showing where things are now.

Search this site for lifting rails and you will find a ton of info on them.
