Recessed trim tabs on cored hull

Anybody familiar with install of recessed trim tabs on balsa core 38 northern bay? Decoring etc

Take a look at the Volvo tabs. No recess necessary.

How do work ,are they mounted off the transom?

Mounted on the transom. The tab drops down vertically
parallel with the transom and creates pressure on the
underside of the hull with less drag.

Mike, you should call Ronnie and ask him about his. He had the volvo's but had a lot of trouble with them. He made ones out of Lenco tabs that slide up and down on brackets. Btw, this is mike, we seabassed on Ronnie's boat last winter together. I have the 36 nb.

Thanks boys. I appreciate the help. Never thought of trim on downeaster but it will help control attitude of boat in headsea and I have 150 gallon live well in deck on port side plus weight of fish etc.
