Guys,

I have come across some nice 30' Repcos for sale lately but information on them is sparse, even here on this site....I am on a sub 25k budget but desperately want a downeast w/a single diesel. So, is the Repco 30 more of an inshore boat or could one handle offshore trips beyond the bank to wildcat, Murray Basin, etc without feeling unsafe? How would they compare to the competition like Young Brothers 30 for example? I do realize they are SLOW but that doesn't bother me so long as the boat can occasionally handle 3-4's 40 miles offshore. Opinions are welcomed.

I owned one for many years and it was a very nice ride at 10 kts. The down side to the design is that it will roll you out of the boat on the drift. It is long, lean and shallow. Not sure I would do anything but troll with it offshore.

For a little more money you can get a lot more boat, to build off of!there are a few bhm 's for not much more. Just my opinion.

Blitzen,

How did your Repco handle while anchored?

I don't remember it being a problem. As I said before it was the beam sea that I remember most. Hold on!
